The 12-episode dramedy series will take viewers behind the scenes of one of the most dynamic worlds – aviation
Falconwing Studio has begun filming its new Bulgarian scripted television series Airport. The 12-episode dramedy is being realized in co-production with the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and will take viewers behind the scenes of one of the busiest and most unpredictable professional environments. The series is set to premiere on BNT in 2027.
Under the tagline “When the rule doesn’t help, only what is right remains,”Airport will tell the stories of the people who keep a modern airport running every day. In a world of strict regulations, flawless procedures, and clearly defined responsibilities, the characters face situations that cannot be anticipated. Amid pressure, responsibility, and unexpected twists, they discover that the most important decisions are not always found in the rulebook, but in human judgment and the courage to do the right thing.
Varna Airport is among the first key filming locations for the production. Shooting is already underway there and will continue throughout the year at a number of iconic locations connected to the world of aviation in Bulgaria.
The leading cast includes Pavel Ivanov, Filip Bukov, Radina Shutova, and Evelina Bibova. The series also features Neda Spasova, alongside other well-known Bulgarian actors.
The first part of the series is directed by Niki Iliev, while Boris Slavkov serves as director of photography during the current stage of production. The screenplay was written by Alexander Chobanov and his writing team.
Airport is scheduled to premiere on the Bulgarian National Television in 2027.
